The work deals with the subject of human beings in relationship to nature. The sculptural elements consist of latex sheet with silicone ginkgo biloba leaf implants. This transparent canvas shows the human silhouette of the body emerging from behind the latex.

In this work, I use the ginkgo biloba leaf as a metaphor for blurred gender identifications vis a vis the position and direction of the stem of the leaf. The relationship of the human body to nature is focused upon via the amplification of gender; illustrated here through the ginkgo biloba leaf. The ginkgo biloba leaf acts as a signifier in the work, which manifests the ambiguity of gender. By doing so, the leaf traverses through issues of sex and gender.
